Global Leadership Summit

22 August 2023

Hosted by the International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) in partnership with the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), the Global Leadership Summit will provide a one-day special platform for international education leaders to be in dialogue with their counterparts from around the world. The Global Summit will be held the day before the Annual IEASA conference.

Target participants:
Vice-Chancellors, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Senior leadership in universities, Directors of Internationalisation, Presidents and Executives of International Education Associations, and those in positions responsible for supporting/funding internationalisation activities in the Higher Education Sector

Ramu Damodaran

Ramu Damodaran is Deputy Permanent Observer of the intergovernmental University for Peace to the United Nations. He was earlier with the United Nations Department of Global Communications where his responsibilities included oversight of relationships with civil society, the creative community and celebrity advocates, publications (including as Chief Editor of the UN Chronicle), the Dag Hammarskjöld Library and as the first chief of the United Nations Academic Impact initiative.

Thandeka Gqubule Mbeki

Thandeke Gqubule-Mbeki is an accomplished Editor, Journalist and author. Thandeka received a M.Sc. in Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York in 1991 and an M. Phil in International Business from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science in 2021. Further, she completed the Oxford Executive Leadership Program, of Said Business School, University of Oxford in 2021.
