Dear Friends of IEASA
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the silver jubilee conference and celebrations of IEASA to be held between the 22nd and 25th of August, 2023. This is indeed a significant milestone in the life of IEASA and we would like you to be part of this special conference and the celebrations. The theme of this conference, “Looking back, Looking forward”, has profound significance. As we look back on the organisation and international education and reflect, we also envision the future. We envision the future that has in many ways been accelerated and amplified by the global event that has altered the course of history and by implication internationalisation. During the period of isolation imposed by the impact of the pandemic, we have seen international educators remain committed to deepening engagement and promoting connection in spite of the challenges. The innovation and pivots that we have seen have shown the remarkable resolve of a community committed to its cause of bringing the world closer together, promoting greater understating of diversity and difference and being more inclusive in our internationalisation efforts.
IEASA has remained connected to its membership and its sister organisations within the Network of International Education Associations. IEASA also remains deeply committed to playing a seminal role in the shaping and reimagination of a brand of internationalisation that promotes social justice, epistemic justice, diversity, inclusion and equity.
I look forward to seeing you at the IEASA conference. The conference will give us the opportunity to engage in a physical space to celebrate this special occasion and to join hands in taking forward all that international education has to offer the world.
