Marshall Maposa is a senior lecturer in the History Education discipline at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Edgewood Campus, South Africa. He obtained a PhD in History Education at the same university.
His research interests are on textbook research, history education (particularly historical literacy), African history African consciousness. He applies these research interests to different projects which he is involved in, such as on internationalization, critical food studies, racial justice and sustainable development. He has published articles and book chapters on these issues and has presented at local and international conferences, in the process receiving some awards such as the English Academy of Southern Africa’s Thomas Pringle Award for the Best Educational Article (2017). He is also the Book Review Editor for the Yesterday & Today journal and an executive member of South African Society for History Teaching.
