Alice A. K. King

Dr Alice A. K. King is the Education Advisor and Outreach Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General Cape Town, South Africa. She is a researcher, author, motivational speaker, teacher by profession, ordained minister of the Gospel, and enjoys counselling and mentor.

Dr Alice A. K. King is the Education Advisor and Outreach Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General Cape Town, South Africa. She is a researcher, author, motivational speaker, teacher by profession, ordained minister of the Gospel, and enjoys counselling and mentor. Alice enjoys grooming youths, instilling hope in the face of adversity and despair. Alice is also passionate about aligning herself with women empowerment initiatives. In 2007, Dr Alice King founded Seed of Salvation Women Ministry which deals with being true to self and engaging in matters of healing despite the challenges women encounter in the journey of life and motivates many in the process. Alice had an opportunity to read a paper at the AEDA Conference in Cape Town with a title: “Restoring women’s and girls’ dignity, identity and development in the era of enlightenment and knowledge.” Before Alice joined the U.S. Embassy, she was an Academic Head and Academic Development Coordinator at Damelin and Rosebank Colleges respectively. Alice has an extensive experience in the education sector in South Africa, the UK and the US respectively. Alice holds a PhD candidate (Education Management) and two Masters Degrees in Educational Leadership (VCU, U.S.A.) and Second Language Studies (Stellenbosch University, South Africa). She recently completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in the Management of HIV and AIDS at Stellenbosch University. Dr Alice King also currently serves as the Council Chairperson of the College of Cape Town. Dr Alice King is working on her research towards the Doctor of Divinity with Newburgh Theological Seminary, Indiana, U.S.A.
